OUR SERVICE

With a broad range of experience in varied construction sectors, employing differing forms of construction, anything is possible, even building underground if planning requires it.

Spending extra time listening to your aims and exploring how the building will be used helps to achieve the best solution for your brief, saving everyone time and money.

All designs are individually tailored to your needs, how you live, in keeping and respectful of the surrounding area.  We don't just copy and paste an old scheme.

LISTED BUILDINGS & CONSERVATION AREAS

Listed buildings and Conservation Areas require a sensitivity in both design and use of materials.  Care has to be taken to respect the original elements of the building or its environment to enhance not lose its original character.

This doesn't mean that listed buildings have to be preserved in aspic.  It is possible to give them a contemporary look if you know what to leave and where you can be more adventurous.  Retaining and preserving what is important and building a good, honest relationship with the Listed Buildings Officer is key.

As with all design the devil is in the details and knowledge of traditional construction methods helps any extensions to listed buildings look in-keeping and get approval.

If you require licensing approval for a public house, off license, restaurant or any other type of licensed premises we can help.  We can survey your site and produce licensing plans for submission as required by the Licensing Act 2003.  If required we have worked closely with a network of Licensing Solicitors around the country.

OAK FRAMED HOUSES & EXTENSIONS

Having an oak framed structure in a building makes creating beautiful architecture easy, just add natural light and some carefully curated views and your left with a space like no other.  An oak frame lends itself to both traditional and contemporary styles and the use of natural materials always gives an unmatched tactile warmth.

Care has to be taken not to design something that looks too like a ski chalet (unless that's your thing) and careful detailing allows the frame to shrink and move over time without ruining the rest of the building envelope.

From a house extension to a new house, hotel or national visitors centre, an oak frame is a beautiful structural solution that repays its investment daily in the spaces it creates.

A good working relationships with some of the countries leading oak framed suppliers helps to ensure that the essential quality of frame finish and detailing is achieved.
